What Is the Fourth Trimester?

The fourth trimester is the first twelve weeks after your baby is born. Your baby is adjusting to life outside the womb: learning to feed, sleeping in short stretches and needing to be held often. At the same time, the mother is recovering physically from birth, often with little sleep, changing hormones and a new feeding routine.

Many families are surprised by how demanding these weeks are, especially with older siblings at home or a partner returning to work. A postpartum doula gives steady, experienced support so the whole family can rest, heal and settle into new routines with confidence.

How Our Postpartum Doulas Help

Support can include overnight postpartum care, daytime postpartum support, feeding help for breast or bottle feeding, help with older siblings as they adjust to the new baby, light household help such as baby laundry and meal preparation, and calm emotional support for the mother.

Every candidate we present has at least three years of experience with U.S. families, in-depth reference checks with former employers and a nationwide background screening. We interview each professional ourselves before we introduce her to your family. Every candidate is CPR-certified.

Postpartum Doula vs Baby Nurse vs Night Nanny

A baby nurse focuses on the newborn, a night nanny covers overnight care so parents can sleep, and a postpartum doula looks after the mother and family as well as the baby.

Serving Boca Raton Families

Many of the families we support deliver at Boca Raton Regional Hospital or West Boca Medical Center and come home to neighborhoods like East Boca, Boca West, Broken Sound, Woodfield Country Club, Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club and The Sanctuary. We also place doulas in Delray Beach, Highland Beach and Palm Beach.

Ideally, start your search during pregnancy so your doula is ready when the baby arrives.

Pricing & Process

Postpartum doula placements use the same flat-fee structure as all our placements. We offer three placement packages: Basic/Advise at $1,500 with a 90-day replacement guarantee, Standard at $2,500 with a 6-month replacement guarantee, and Premium at $3,500 with a 12-month replacement guarantee. A $500 retainer activates your search and is deducted from your package price, plus applicable taxes. The remaining balance is due before in-person meetings, trials or hire. All agency fees are non-refundable.

Caregiver pay is set between your family and the professional, and it depends on experience, certifications, overnight versus daytime hours, number of babies (twins need more support), how many nights per week, and any household duties. We discuss realistic compensation with you on the intake call, so you know what to budget before candidates are presented. Our agency fee is separate and flat: $1,500, $2,500 or $3,500 depending on the guarantee you choose.

Our process is simple: pay the retainer to activate your search, review featured candidate profiles, meet selected candidates over Zoom, pay the remaining balance, then hold paid trials. Paid trials are authorized only after the remaining balance is paid in full; trial compensation is paid directly to the candidate.
