NCS vs Night Nanny vs Baby Nurse

A newborn care specialist is an experienced caregiver who focuses on newborns: feeding schedules, sleep routines, soothing and early development. "Baby nurse" is the traditional name families use for the same kind of role. A night nanny covers overnight care, while an NCS often brings deeper newborn training and can teach parents routines they keep after she leaves.

What NCS Certification Means

Newborn care specialist certification shows that a caregiver has completed formal training in newborn care topics such as safe sleep, feeding, soothing and common newborn conditions. Certification is useful, but experience matters just as much. Every candidate we present is CPR-certified and has at least three years of experience with U.S. families; if NCS certification matters to you, tell us and we will only present certified specialists.

What Affects a Newborn Care Specialist's Pay

Caregiver pay is set between your family and the professional, and it depends on experience, certifications, overnight versus daytime hours, number of babies (twins need more support), how many nights per week, and any household duties. We discuss realistic compensation with you on the intake call, so you know what to budget before candidates are presented. Our agency fee is separate and flat: $1,500, $2,500 or $3,500 depending on the guarantee you choose.

Our Flat Agency Fees

We offer three placement packages: Basic/Advise at $1,500 with a 90-day replacement guarantee, Standard at $2,500 with a 6-month replacement guarantee, and Premium at $3,500 with a 12-month replacement guarantee. A $500 retainer activates your search and is deducted from your package price, plus applicable taxes. The remaining balance is due before in-person meetings, trials or hire. All agency fees are non-refundable.

How to Hire

Our process is simple: pay the retainer to activate your search, review featured candidate profiles, meet selected candidates over Zoom, pay the remaining balance, then hold paid trials. Paid trials are authorized only after the remaining balance is paid in full; trial compensation is paid directly to the candidate.

Every candidate we present has at least three years of experience with U.S. families, in-depth reference checks with former employers and a nationwide background screening. We interview each professional ourselves before we introduce her to your family.
